On October 30, 2011, Geotechnical Engineering Technology Research Center of Yunnan Province passed the acceptance inspection of Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Department of Finance and Development and Reform Commission, and was approved to be incorporated into the management sequence of Yunnan Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center and put into operation. As the core unit of geotechnical Center, Yunnan Agricultural University is in charge of geotechnical engineering research team of college of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The team has 7 full-time teachers, including 5 doctors, 1 master, and 6 teachers aged from 30 to 39. Host team members participated in the department of fund of yunnan province, yunnan province education department funds, the national natural science fund project, technology innovation talented person projects in yunnan province, permafrost engineering state key laboratory open fund project, key project of the ministry science and technology research and development plan, sinohydro bureau 14 key projects such as more than 20.
The main research fields of the center are geotechnical engineering investigation technology, key technology of deep foundation pit support design and construction, key technology of building foundation design and construction, key technology of tunnel construction, key technology of geological disaster control and slope engineering construction, and safety monitoring system of geotechnical engineering.
