The platform was established in October 2009 as the "Land Resources Science and Technology Engineering Research Center of Yunnan Agricultural University", and renamed as "Natural Resources Science and Technology Engineering Research Center of Yunnan Agricultural University". Our team members specialize in land resource management, land use planning, urban and rural planning, geographic information system, agricultural economic management, rural regional development, soil science, water conservancy and hydropower engineering, environmental science, resource environment and remote sensing information and other related disciplines.
The main research fields of the Center are intelligent spatial planning, comprehensive territorial control, ecological restoration of water and soil resources, natural resource monitoring and evaluation, remote sensing and UAV application, and natural resource policy system.
The Center has two provincial-level scientific research platforms, namely, Yunnan Intermountain Basin Land Use Field Observation and Research Station of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Yunnan Provincial Land Resources Utilization and Protection Engineering Laboratory.
Since 2000, the center has closely focused on the diverse regional characteristics of Southwest China. Scientific research activities- such as theoretical innovation of land resource utilization, innovation of diversified allocation methods, innovation of ecological improvement technology, innovation of transformation of key technological achievements, and innovation of land consolidation management- have produced rich and high-level innovation achievements, and have significant competitive advantages and innovative characteristics in the fields of land optimization allocation and ecological remediation science and technology in China.
The team is rooted in southwest China. Under the background of rural revitalization strategy, the team gives full play to the advantages of interdisciplinary agriculture, economy, information, culture and land, and combination of principle exploration, technology research and development and engineering practice;has been researching regional diversity characteristics, land resource allocation, land use and regional planning, regional industrialization policy and strategy, land ecological restoration, land resource monitoring and evaluation, land consolidation engineering, land informatization, etc.; The team is committed to solving the problems existing in land resource utilization, regional economic and social development, agricultural industrialization development and national agricultural culture development under the characteristics of diversity in southwest China.
The team adheres to the development model of "production, education, research and application". Through technology-driven and innovative development, our team has undertaken more than 30 scientific programs (including National Natural Science Foundation of China Programs, National Science and Technology Support Programs, the public welfare industry and provincial research programs) , won 9 provincial science and technology awards, and more than 70 patents in the fields of land science and technology, humanities and social sciences, and agricultural economic management with southwest characteristics. The team closely combines production practice to serve the social and economic development of Southwest China, and has completed more than 200 regional industrial planning, feasibility studies and engineering design of production practice projects, such as industrial development of agriculture, plateau characteristic industry development, land use, land consolidation, transformation of low- and medium-yield fields, and farmland soil improvement. The team has trained and trained a large number of professionals to serve grassroots science and technology, effectively serve the rational allocation and efficient use of land resources, industrial development of agriculture and rural revitalization strategy implementation.
